J4G Golf Outing Fundraiser

July 27, 2026

Journey 4 Gina was honored to be selected as the charitable beneficiary of the Detroit Fish House Golf Outing. With the support of golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and our community, the event helped raise funds to further J4G's mission of supporting those affected by domestic violence.

Women's Self Defense Class

In partnership with Traditional Dojo, Journey 4 Gina hosted a free Women's Self Defense Class designed to help women build confidence, awareness, and practical skills to better protect themselves. The incredible response from our community allowed us to offer multiple sessions throughout the day, creating a safe and empowering space for women to learn, connect, and grow stronger together.

11th Annual Purple Run

October 11, 2025

Supporters and members of the J4G Foundation joined domestic violence advocates, survivors, and law enforcement officers to “run domestic violence out of town.”

A huge thank-you to the University of Michigan Special Victims Unit for hosting the 11th Annual Purple Run, including J4G in this important event, and continuing to honor Gina’s legacy.

It truly takes a community to create change, and today, we saw that in action. Seeing so many people come together with passion, strength, and purpose reminds us why we do this work. Together, we stand for survivors and strive for a future free from violence.

Adopt A Family

Journey 4 Gina partnered with Turning Point to adopt a mother and her daughter for the holiday season. With the generosity of our supporters, we were able to provide gifts and essential items for the family, helping create a Christmas filled with comfort, joy and hope. Supporting families affected by domestic violence is at the heart of our mission, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this possible.

Christmas Donations

During the holiday season, J4G was honored to support a non-profit founded by Rachelle Garrett that serves women and children affected by violence and sexual abuse during conflicts in Africa. The organization operates two facilities dedicated to providing safe shelter, education, empowerment, and essential resources to women and children in need. Through these safe havens, survivors are given protection, opportunities for education, and tools that can help then build safer, more independent futures. J4G was able to contribute supplies and support to an organization whose work reflects our shared commitment to protecting, empowering, and uplifting those affected by violence.

Detroit Free Press Marathon October 20, 2024

Journey 4 Gina proudly participated in the Detroit Free Press Marathon for the first time, bringing Gina’s story and our message of domestic violence awareness to one of Detroit’s largest community events. Our team came together to honor Gina’s life, raise awareness, and stand in support of survivors and families affected by domestic violence. Every step was taken with purpose—carrying Gina’s memory forward while helping bring greater visibility to a cause that impacts far too many.

J4G Bowling Fundraiser

Journey 4 Gina hosted our first Bowling Fundraiser, bringing together more than 200 family members, friends, and community supporters for an incredible day of connection and purpose. The event helped raise funds to support the foundation’s mission while creating an opportunity to share Gina’s story and increase awareness about domestic violence. The overwhelming support we received during one of our earliest events showed us just how powerful a community can be when it comes together for meaningful change.
